The Lebaniego Jubilee Year is an event that occurs every time April 16, the feast day of Santo Toribio de Liébana, falls on a Sunday. This year, 2023, is the 74th Jubilee Year, and the Gates of Forgiveness of the Monastery of Santo Toribio de Liébana open after being closed for six years, to receive pilgrims and visitors from all over the world.

During this year, the monastery houses the Lignum Crucis, considered by many to be the largest piece of the cross on which Jesus Christ was crucified. Pilgrims who visit the monastery during the Jubilee Year can gain plenary indulgence, which means the complete remission of their sins.
